TAG meeting postponed-NEW DATE

Due to some schedule changeshere at the Library, we are having to postpone
the TAG meeting from 2/14to 2/21.
It will still be at 4:30 in the Children's Story Room.

TAG MEETING on Jan.10th

Hello TAG members,
Our Next TAG Meeting is on January 10th at 4:30pm.
We will be starting the quilt making.
So bring any and all your ideas for what you can do on your quilt square.
The quilt square has to "REPRESENT YOU". Keep the drawing simple and not too complicated. Has to be able to color with crayolas.

WRESTLE MANIA CONTEST INFO..

We have a new contest going for teens.
It's the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge that is mentioned on the Young Adult Library Services Association website.
Here is some of the information from the flyer we have:

HOW TO ENTER: This contest is for students in grades 9-12. Between now and January 16, 2007, read a combined total of ten (10) chapter books and magazines (including at least eight (8) chapter books),which must include "Athletic Shorts" by Chris Crutcher and "Black and White" by Paul Volponi. Pick up a reading log at Hemet Public Library's Children's Reference Desk. Write down the name and author of the books read and the name and issue of the magazines read.Either write a 300-word essay about "Athletic Shorts" or "Black and White" OR design a webpage depicting one (1) or more major plots and one (1) or more major characters from either or both of "Athletic Shorts" and "Black and White."Submit the form at the Hemet Public Library's Children's Reference Desk, along with your essay or webpage, no later than 6 p.m. on January 15, 2007. Only one entry per person.Two (2) First Prize Winners will be selected from among all eligible entries. A First Prize will be awarded to the student who submits the best essay and to the student who submits the best webpage. Each First Prize consists of a WWE DVD and T-shirt. In addition, the winning essay and winning webpage will be entered into the National Reading Challenge Final Round.The winners of the National Reading Challenge Final Round will be awarded a trip for two (2) to WrestleMania® 23 (“WrestleMania”) scheduled to be held on April 1, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan (exact WrestleMania date and location subject to change in WWE’s sole discretion). Grand Prize package includes economy round-trip air travel (via aircarrier selected by WWE) for Grand Prize Winner and a guest; two (2) tickets to WrestleMania (exact seat location subject to WWE’s sole discretion;three (3) nights’ hotel accommodations consisting of one (1) standard room, double occupancy at a hotel selected by WWE; round-trip ground transportation from airport to hotel; Three Hundred Dollars ($300) spending money; Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) donated in the Grand Prize Winner’s name to the Grand Prize Winner’s high school or public library.

PAINT PARTY IS TOMORROW

YOU CAN COME AT 3PM ON..UNTIL THE LIBRARY CLOSES AT 6PM. WE WILL BE PAINTING THINGS AND GETTING READY FOR THE CHRISTMAS PARADE.

Boys Burgers was fun too. I got some pictures of us there. We were the most people theyve ever had sitting inside all at once. Fright Night was great too. FUN!!!fun!!!FUN!!!
