Summer Reading Starts July 9th!

Summer Reading will be starting July 9th. Family Fun Events will be at 3pm with a special storyteller and a craft. At 4:30 will be our Teen Time programs. Stop by the library to see what programs we will be offering for Teen Time.

March 8-13, 2009 is Teen Tech Week

During March we will have a chance for teens to help create our own teen website! March 19th at 4:30pm in the Teen Chat Room we will be looking for some new ideas to spice up our teen library webpage.

Wed. and Thurs. 9am to 7pm
Fri. and Sat 9am to 6pm

Hi everyone,

My name is Letty and I am the new Young Adult library assistant. I have been working in the library for a year and a half. I have helped Dawn with some of your activities.

We have been working on a TAG election. We have changed the offices a little. We will have four officers: President-who will run the TAG meetings and be the fundraising Coordinator; Vice President- who will be responsible for making up meeting agendas and will be the phone tree coordinator; Secretary-will take notes during the meetings and write a TAG newsletter; and Treasurer-who will keep track of our finances and work with the President on fundraisers. If you are interested in running for any of these offices come to at least one of the next two TAG meetings and leave me your name and the office you want to run for.

April TAG meeting

Hi Everyone!

Our April TAG will be a week early. Wednesday April 2nd @4:30pm in the teen room.

Hi TAG members! Tis' the season to be Jolly and spread good cheer!
If you missed the Teen Chat Room on Nov. 29th, you missed a good one. The theme was "How to Win Friends and Talk to People." Actor Murray Robataille joined us for some impromptu acting advice and some great pointers for talking with people. Everyone got to take turns "acting" and set up the scenarios. Murray also gave us some great advice on peacefully resolving problems with potentially explosive situations. He has promised to come back another time to give us more pointers on acting.

The TAG is making Christmas ornaments and bags to sell in order to raise money to buy new teen books. Please come in Dec. 3-4 about 4 p.m. to help finish making them, and to get the Teen Room ready for all the customers. Hopefully, they will start flocking in Wed., Dec. 5, 12 and 19th. We can use LOTSSSSS of help. Come join us.

Our next TAG meeting will be Dec. 12th at 4:30 p.m., and the next Teen Chat Room will be Dec. 18th at 4:oo p.m. Be there!!

On a sad note...my last day at the library will be Dec. 14th. My husband has a new job in Texas and so...we will be moving at the end of the month. Please come into the library and say good bye to me before I leave. I'll miss all of you and your wonderful enthusiasm.

2ND ANNUAL TEEN FRIGHT NIGHT PICTURES

Hi TAG members!

I apologize for the long dry spell of no new news, but without Kaylee to post these notes, I'm learning a new thing! So please bear with me while I learn.

The next TAG meeting will be on Wednesday, November 14th at 4:30p.m. Please come. We'll be making Christmas ornaments which we will sell as a fundraiser in order to buy more teen books for our collection. Come join the fun. We always have snacks and you can check out the pics from our second annual Teen Fright Night.

Teen Chat Room...Tuesday, November 27th at 4:00 p.m.

The theme is "How to Win Friends and Talk to People."
Are you shy? Get tongue-tied and don't know what to say when people pressure you?

Come meet actor, Murray Robitaille, who will give us some hints on speaking up for ourselves in those situations. We may even have time for those fish bowl speeches you TAG members have been wanting to do!

Summer Reading Program starts on the week of June 25th. Teens can come in anytime that week to register.

The first Teen Time is on Tuesday, June 26th at 4:00 in the Conference Room.
